Dear Reader,

Summer is right around the corner and I am so looking forward to it. Yes, I know I sound like Pollyanna, and to some people that's a personality defect. I am just one of those annoyingly optimistic people, and I make no apology for it.

My positive outlook is an integral part of my genetic make up. I refuse to let myself get sucked in by pessimistic people who make negativity a lifestyle. Depression and cynicism can suck the life and spirit out of you. It's counterproductive and a real downer. Negative people can clear a room faster than any foul odor. Who in the world wants to be around people who bring you down and spread their poison like wildfire?

By the time you get around to reading this I will have taken a Mediterranean cruise. I am going to places like Venice, Dubrovnik, Athens, and Izmir, and I am so looking forward to this vacation.

 


It won't be all pleasure though. I'll be doing some research and taking notes for an upcoming book. I will also be taking lots of pictures, so please keep checking this site as I share my journey with you. I promise it will not be a bumpy ride.

My next writing project isn't due until September but I plan on working on this cruise. Like every other author I juggle writing a manuscript with several other proposals. Authors need to keep submitting proposals in order to keep working. This can make writing an all-consuming business, and I am all about keeping balance in my life.

On an entirely different note, if you're anywhere in the vicinity of Orlando on Wednesday July 28, 2010 be sure to stop by the Romance Writers of America Literacy Book Signing. It's being held at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. It's open to the general public and all proceeds go to literacy.
